BHARTI AIRTEL & TCS UNITE TO BUILD 5G NETWORKS IN INDIA - IN INDIA

The Telecom giant Airtel and IT leader TCS joined hands for building effective 5G solutions in the country. This union will help TCS to amplify its capability and scale and allow Airtel to minimize the cost of the deployment, as stated by experts. The announcement of this partnership came across on June 21, which stated that implementation of 5G solutions would commence from January 2022. Details about the union: 5G solutions has been developed by TCS using Open-Radio Access Network (O-RAN), a part of telecommunication architecture which resembles to open source in software. As it is not a proprietary, it can be used by any company to develop solutions thereby making it flexible and availing an opportunity to other companies to develop innovative solutions for the same. Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Group during the TCS AGM on June 10, said, that “5G is new technology and TCS will play a significant role both in the development of firmware, which is required to develop the necessary technology (for 5G solutions). But most importantly, leveraging the 5G and create large number of applications in various sectors.
