HAPPY HYPOXIA - THE NEW UNHAPPY! IN INDIA
Besides treating several patients suffering from different orthopedic problems such as any sorts of trauma to bones and muscles or any fractures and doing several orthopedic surgeries, Dr Rahul Sharma, a senior orthopedic surgeon in Sawan Neelu Angels Hospital, New Delhi, has been mentoring people regularly on the do’s and don’ts during Covid times. Discussing the newest research on Covid-19 symptoms - Hypoxia, we had a conversation with him. “Happy is the NEW UNHAPPY”, he says. A person may feel normal even if his/her blood oxygen level is falling. It’s when your body starves for oxygen without showing any symptoms. Normal oxygen saturation in a healthy individual is 94%. If it falls below this, it’s called HYPOXIA. If a person is unable to feel it and believes everything is fine, it is called HAPPY HYPOXIA. Dr Rahul Sharma, from Life in Motion Clinic says, “Happy Hypoxia is an alarming situation and also one of the major causes of deaths in Covid-19.” How to detect it? Dr Rahul Sharma, from Life in Motion Clinic suggests, “Notice for signs like:- Change of the colour of lips from natural tone to blue. Skin discolouration to red or purple tone. Profuse sweating even when not doing any physical activity.” Can I test it myself? Dr Rahul Sharma, from Life in Motion Clinic suggests, “Do a 6-minute walk test Walk for 6 minutes in your house and note your oxygen levels. If you notice a drop of 3% from the baseline, consult your doctor. Do proning and deep breathing.” Visit our webpage:https://lifeinmotionclinic.com/
