MUSLIN FABRIC: WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT’S MADE - CLOTHING & IN INDIA
Muslin fabric is a plain-woven cotton fabric made in various weights. The good quality fabrics are smoother and are finer in texture that are woven from evenly spun warps, wefts or fillings. Owing to these unique weaving techniques the textures are also unique and are one of the most preferred fabrics for Indian Textiles. Generally, the fabrics are given a soft finish, often bleached in several colours, or piece-dyed and are also petterned in the looms. The coarser the varieties, the irregular yarns and textures become. The fabrics are graded according to their textures and are named as book, mull, swiss and sheeting.
