Top 2 lakh candidates (including all categories) in the merit list of JEE (Main) Paper-1 will be eligible to write JEE (Advanced). 2. The Offline Exam of JEE (Advanced) 2016 will be on Last week of May. 3. The JEE (Advanced)-2016 will have two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & 2 of three hours. 4. Each of the question papers will consist of three separate parts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 5. The question paper will be in either English or Hindi. About JEE (Advanced)2016 The JEE (Advanced)- will be conducted by Seven Zonal IITs (under the directives of the Joint Admission Board) for admission to the undergraduate programmes in all IITs. All the candidates aspiring to take admission in the undergraduate programmes at IITs and ISM Dhanbad for the year 2016 will have to appear in the JEE (Main) - 2016 Paper-1. Seven Zonal IITs which conduct JEE (Advanced) 2016 examination are IITB, IITD, IITG, IITK, IITKgp, IITM &IITR. Important Dates for JEE (Advanced) 2016 1. Registration for JEE (Advanced): Not Declared 2. Date of Examination: 22nd May 2016 3. Results of JEE (Advanced): Not Declared Eligibility Criteria A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfill each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. 1. Performance in JEE (Main) 2016: The candidate should be among the top 2,00,000 including all categories in JEE (Main) 2016. The percentage of the total number of candidates for various categories will be declared shortly. 2. Age Limit: The candidate should have been born on or after 1st October, 1991 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after 1st October, 1986 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category. [Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.] 3. Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too, in consecutive years. 4. Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: Candidates who appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2015 and wish to reappear in the same in 2016 will have to re-appear in all the subjects in 2016. Those who appeared for the first time in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam in 2014 or earlier are NOT eligible. 5. Earlier admission at IITs/ISM: The candidate should NOT have been admitted OR even accepted the seat by paying seat acceptance fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs or ISM was cancelled are also NOT eligible. However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2016. . Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced) 2016 The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. The maximum marks are 264 comprising of 88 marks for each subject in Paper-1 and 240 marks comprising of 80 marks for each subject in Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. In some Sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. Only BLACK ball point pens, downloaded admit card and an original photo identity card are allowed to take inside the examination hall. The answer sheet of each paper of JEE (Advanced) 2016 is a machine-readable ORS. The ORS has two pages with the same lay-out. The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is designed so as to leave impressions of the responses on the second page. Candidates should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS at any stage and under any circumstance. Candidates should use BLACK BALL POINT pen for darkening the bubbles. Candidate should write his/her Name, Roll No. and the name of centre and sign with pen in the boxes provided on the right part of ORS. She/he should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS. The second page of the ORS will be handed over to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination. Registration Procedure for JEE (Advanced) 2016 Top 2, 00,000 (including all the categories) candidates will be declared qualified based on their scores in Paper-1 of JEE (Main)-2016. They only will be eligible to register for JEE (Advanced)-2016. All eligible candidates should register only through online at http://www.jeeadv.ac.in/scr/reg_jeeadv.php, where detailed instructions will be provided. • After login, candidate need to provide the following information (as applicable) and also upload soft (scanned) copies of all requisite documents as: 1. Year of First Attempt in JEE (Advanced) 2. Choice of Examination City / Town 3. Choice of Language of Question Paper (English or Hindi) 4. Entitlement of DS Category 5. Requirement of Scribe 6. Original passport size photograph in JPEG format (preferably from digital camera) 7. Legible scanned signature as a JPEG file 8. Soft copies of Date of Birth, Class-X and Category and Sub-Category (PwD) certificat. • Pay registration fee. Registration fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable.
