However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2016. . Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced) 2016 The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. The maximum marks are 264 comprising of 88 marks for each subject in Paper-1 and 240 marks comprising of 80 marks for each subject in Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. In some Sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. Candidate should write his/her Name, Roll No. and the name of centre and sign with pen in the boxes provided on the right part of ORS. She/he should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS. The second page of the ORS will be handed over to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.
