He then completed his super-specialty training as DNB (GI Surgery) from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. He has had further training in Colorectal surgery in the UK, where he was working for 5 years. His UK experience includes fellowships in minimally invasive colorectal surgery (Laparoscopic and Robotic), Surgery for Colorectal cancer, Peritoneal Cytoreductive Surgery, and HIPEC. He was a fellow at the Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, which is a world-renowned centre for Colorectal and peritoneal cancer surgery. He has also worked as a locum General/Colorectal surgical Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry, UK. He was awarded the Membership of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2018. Dr. Poornima A. Shah had a brilliant academic medical career, having won several awards and gold medals. After completing her MD in Pediatrics, she got trained in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. She is a certified ‘International Diplomate – American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology‘ with additional certification in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring.
