Those who appeared for the first time in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam in 2014 or earlier are NOT eligible. 5. Earlier admission at IITs/ISM: The candidate should NOT have been admitted OR even accepted the seat by paying seat acceptance fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs or ISM was cancelled are also NOT eligible. However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2016. . Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced) 2016 The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. The maximum marks are 264 comprising of 88 marks for each subject in Paper-1 and 240 marks comprising of 80 marks for each subject in Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. Candidates should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS at any stage and under any circumstance. Candidates should use BLACK BALL POINT pen for darkening the bubbles. Candidate should write his/her Name, Roll No. and the name of centre and sign with pen in the boxes provided on the right part of ORS. She/he should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS. The second page of the ORS will be handed over to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.
