Results of JEE (Advanced): Not Declared Eligibility Criteria A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfill each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. 1. Performance in JEE (Main) 2016: The candidate should be among the top 2,00,000 including all categories in JEE (Main) 2016. The percentage of the total number of candidates for various categories will be declared shortly. 2. Age Limit: The candidate should have been born on or after 1st October, 1991 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after 1st October, 1986 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category. [Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.] 3. Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too, in consecutive years. 4. Earlier admission at IITs/ISM: The candidate should NOT have been admitted OR even accepted the seat by paying seat acceptance fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs or ISM was cancelled are also NOT eligible. However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2016. . Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced) 2016 The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. She/he should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS. The second page of the ORS will be handed over to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.
