Bruiser orcs are great for battering down gates but they aren’t much use against mortar fire and long-distance snipers – plus, each stronghold has different weak points, defences and occupants. If one of your recruits impresses you, make sure you reward them – give them that castle as a gift and make them the warden of it. Just be aware that whoever you pick to guard the fort, will literally make it his own. The surroundings and look of the stronghold will quickly change, with new quests related to the leader’s tribe appearing in the surrounding area. Remember to only pick your best warriors to keep guard, as we can guarantee that Sauron’s army will be coming to visit at some point. The new game mechanics make it possible for your decisions to alter the entire world, so each player will have a different experience.
